Extending Healing Hands Around the World 2025–2026 Donation Appeal

Overview:

• GHH begins its second year of operation in 2025, continuing our mission to provide surgical care, medical education, and humanitarian outreach to underserved communities worldwide.

Highlights from 2025 Missions Cambodia & Laos

• Worked at the large charity hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, performing free thyroid surgeries for patients in need.

• Partnered with Mittaphab Hospital, Vientiane, Laos for a collaborative educational exchange.

• Gynecology team performed cervical cancer screenings, treating two early cases.

• Surgical team conducted general and endocrine operations and training sessions for local staff.

• Delivered lectures on skin cancer, laparoscopic surgery, and fracture management.

Madagascar

• Returned to Antsiranana , continuing multi-year collaboration with local medical teams.

• Expanded to Bethany Hospital, Toamasina, founded by Dr. Fabruce.

• Donated a generator and surgical equipment, enabling safe laparotomy and laparoscopic procedures.

• Supported local efforts to expand hospital capacity and sustainability.

Rwanda

• Conducted over 35 major surgeries (thyroid, hernia, gallbladder, breast).

• Launched a breast cancer screening program, examining 50+ women and identifying multiple treatable cases.

• Provided lectures on breast cancer diagnosis and laparoscopic skills training.

• Welcomed Dr. Ford of Albany Medical Center on his first GHH mission.

• Expanded services to a second hospital in Kigali.

Kenya & Uganda

• Drs. Yim and Starnes partnered with Dr. Brown at Diani Beach Charity Hospital, Kenya completing 150+ surgeries and training local staff.

• Supported a new surgical residency program in Kabale, Uganda,training brand new surgeons

• Began sponsorship of Charles Tumwesige, a promising intern pursuing surgical training.

• Scheduled return in February 2026 for continued mentorship by our American Surgeon educator Dr Meghoo.

Looking Ahead to 2026

• Launch first humanitarian mission to the Philippines, partnering with local medical teams.

• Continue collaboration with Dr. Fabruce in Madagascar to develop his hospital in Toamasina.

• Expand breast cancer outreach into a mobile screening unit offering ultrasound and diagnostics in rural communities in Rwanda.
